Applied Research Centres

Here at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Tehcnology, we have a reputation for ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research in a range of fields, from wireless mobile technology to digital forensics. Such knowledge, and more, is applied to the creative industries via the Centre for Media Arts & Technology (CMAT) and to conserving resources via the Centre for Energy Efficient Systems (CEES).

Our Mobile Fusion Centre specialises in the integration of mobile and wireless technology with other technologies, like robotics or mechatronics.  This work sees use in a range of business applications such as auditing, manufacturing and logistics.

While academics at our Centre for Information, Intelligence and Security Systems (CIISS) are also working on projects that meet the needs of the business community, providing innovative solutions to real-life problems. The latest is a technology that eliminates false alarms in any CCTV system.
