Cisco Training

Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Pofessional) short courses are available through the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology. These courses run in the evening and are therefore suitable for people in full time employment.
About the CCNA course
The CCNA certification (Cisco, University Learning Award in Network Optimisation) validates an individual’s networking skills at the foundation level. Candidates who pass the CCNA exam receive a CCNA certificate from Cisco and may display the CCNA designation on business cards or use the letters after their name
About the CCNP course
The CCNP (Cisco, Advanced University Diploma Network Optimisation) certification validates an individual’s networking skills at the mid-career level. Candidates who pass the required proctored CCNP exam will receive a CCNP certificate from Cisco and may display the CCNP designation on business cards or use the letters after their name.
Overall, the Cisco certification authenticates an individual’s achievement, so it increases the holder’s professional credibility by ensuring high standards of expertise. In particular, the CCNA certification indicates knowledge of networking for the small-office, home-office (SOHO) market and the ability to work in small businesses or organisations whose networks have fewer than 100 nodes.
