CE00455-7 Technical Paper Authoring
This module is for students who wish to specialise in an area and write a technical report related to their work. The student will be responsible for identifying the technical report topic, carrying out the research, and finally formalising their findings into a concise technical report of publishable standard.
Each student will undertake an individual programme of study related to a topic of interest to themselves and write a technical report. Identification of the topic should be carefully carried out in order to assure the value of it to the academic community. Before starting the technical report the student and module team must agree the topic and full scope of work to be completed. The report must include comprehensive referencing to research papers, journals and books etc. to make the work academically sound. The work may or may not have a practical component this depends on the chosen topic. There will be four timetabled sessions for the module where the student will be given direction in preparing work and given feedback on progress made so far.
Please note that the content written in the technical report must be original in relation to your other module assessments, i.e. you must not copy and reuse content directly from other modules.
