CE00203-7 Strategic Planning and Systems Development

This module will look at the changing role of IT in business, covering categories and 'eras' of IS/IT applications. It will look at Models of IT development and of IT planning. The strategic impact of IS/IT on businesses is also examined. Techniques for managing the IS application portfolio and planning the IT infrastructure is reviewed in depth. Identifying business opportunities for IS/IT will be focused to address: Business analysis methods, value chain and competition models of IT use. An overview of system paradigms and system development methods and the investigation of alternative system possibilities also have focus.
