Recent Graduate Employment

'Graduating in 2009 & following a stint in Touring Concert Production, I started an internship at Universal Music Group in June 2010 with Polydor Records and have been very lucky to have been promoted to a full time Digital Marketing Assistant. Alongside assisting the department I have been given a roster of my own acts and some fantastic projects including All time low, Jimmy Eat World, Bryan Adams + some developing acts you'll see more of next year. It also means I'm assisting on some huge campaigns, with some really experienced campaign managers including the new Take That album & Duffy's new album - so it's been fantastic and just keeps getting better!
I'm also looking after the Down the Front sessionswe've got some really exciting sessions coming up in the new year for this, i've also become involved in some of the work we've done with new iPhone apps and am currently developing one on behalf of the label
Working for a Major Label had always been a goal of mine... being able to work at the biggest label in the UK, blast music all day, go to some great concerts, meet amazing people AND get paid for it is fantastic" Olivia Hobbs BSc(Hons) Music Technology with Management

Whilst at d&b, she did training in acoustics, system design and rigging PA systems, including concerts for Westlife, Girls Aloud and Hillsong.
Rebecca then moved to teaching audio engineering and music technology at the School of Sound Recording in Manchester. Rebecca now lectures at the University of Wolverhampton in 2007 where she is a senior lecturer and the course leader for BA (Hons) Music Technology, BA (Hons) Sound Production top-up and BA (Hons) Music Industry Practice top-up. "During my final year of Staffs Uni I began an internship working with international music distribution company DittoMusic. I began working for Ditto in Feb 2009 and from starting as an intern have now worked my way up to the Vice Presidency of this exciting and developing independent company. From working as an intern making tea and coffee, to being utilized as a manager in regard to the technical process of distribution to my current role where I am in charge of European business development and am directly responsible for the heading up label relations.
Ditto as a company have hugely expanded from 4 people working in an office in Birmingham to become one of the largest independent distributors of music in Europe and have recently opened up a satellite office in the USA and will follow with an Australian HQ by winter 2011. So working in the planning of releases, marketing campaigns around them and being directly involved with labels and artists is a dream for me, getting paid to work with music ain't bad at all."
