Social Work and Advice Studies
Understanding the social factor
At Staffordshire University, Social Work, Social Care and Advice Work students are challenged to explore how ‘social problems’ come about – and to better understand who decides whether they are in fact ‘problems’.
We have been delivering Social Work and Advice training and education for well over a decade and have established a strong reputation for excellence at pre-qualifying and post-qualifying levels. We offer a flexible approach including on-line distance learning and part-time opportunities as well as offering foundation degrees through to postgraduate study opportunities.
Our programme area has earned an outstanding reputation for social work education. Our introduction of distance learning in advice studies met with considerable acclaim. And all our awards have been used to develop excellent working relationships with social care, social work and advice work agencies. The objective of working in partnership like this is to create highly employable graduates, with first-hand experience of working with people, our team offers a broad range of academic and practice-based experience – and delivers education and training across the widest spectrum.
Many of the difficulties that people face in today's world are grounded in how society is structured and how various groups are treated. Study at Staffordshire University and you will also be challenged to explore the key issues of oppression and discrimination in order to better understand how society operates.
