Green Impact in the Law School
National Universities Environmental Accreditation Scheme ‘Green Impact’
Staffordshire University Law School is very committed to moving towards becoming more sustainable and reducing its impact on the environment. In 2010, it signed up to the National Universities Environmental Accreditation Scheme ‘Green Impact’. Indeed we recognise that our activities have significant implications for the environment, from the gas we use for heating, the electricity consumed by lighting, the way we travel to the University and the waste that we generate. We have therefore set ourselves a programme of environmental improvement and we will be taking action to:
• Implement an environmental management system to manage our impacts
• Control and reduce our energy consumption
• Reduce the amount of waste disposed to landfill by increasing the amount we reuse and recycle
• Manage our water use
• Promote more sensible forms of travel
We are also very proud that our academics within the School are at the leading edge of environmental law research.
