LLB - the Qualifying Law Degree
About the LLB Course
The academic knowledge, skills and abilities I learned through my degree course were the most valuable assets in making me irresistible to potential employers.
Hazel Burgess, LLB (Single Hons) Law
The LLB Single Honours Degree is a Qualifying Law Degree for the purposes of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board (BSB) and allows you to progress directly to the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the Bar Vocational Course (BVC).
You will be taught by experienced professionals including qualified solicitors and barristers, and experience the type of work you’ll be expected to carry out in a law firm.
Staffordshire University Law School is the place to learn cutting-edge skills in a life-like environment. You’ll have the opportunity to develop advocacy skills in an authentic courtroom setting as well as access to a dedicated law library which is why you’ll enter solicitors’ offices and barristers’ chambers already equipped to meet the challenges you’ll face.
Learning in our Law School is up-to-the-minute, relevant, and very flexible. You can gain a qualifying law degree in a number of ways to suit your qualifications, interests and circumstances.
The LLB is also an excellent qualification for a whole range of careers, including: paralegal and legal executive work; education, management consultancy, business management and HR roles.
As one of the leading providers of legal education in the UK, Staffordshire University Law School offers a variety of ways to study for your LLB. These include full-time (over three years), accelerated learning by two-year Fast-track degree, or part-time in the day or evening (over four years).
For students with few formal qualifications, we also offer a one-year, full-time Foundation course to help develop study skills and provide a good grounding in Law prior to undergraduate study.
