LPC - the postgraduate stage of becoming a solicitor

About the Legal Practice Course

I feel as ready as I can be to start my training contract; I know that I am entering the profession with the best possible start which is a priceless feeling.

The Legal Practice Course (LPC law) is the postgraduate stage on the route to becoming a solicitor and represents practical training for the solicitors’ profession and is one of the leading providers of Legal Education in the UK.

The course can be studied full-time (one academic year), or part-time over two days or two evenings per week (two academic years) and is ideal whether you are entering commercial practice or a traditional ‘high street’ firm. Most students take the LPC law course after completing either a Law degree or a graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).

You can also study for the LLM in Legal Practice at the same time as the LPC. This involves attending a small number of additional lectures and completing a dissertation within four years.

The legal practice course is taught by qualified solicitors and barristers, all of whom are experts in their chosen field, you will learn how to put Law into practice, benefit from our highly regarded mentoring and street law schemes and have access to outstanding careers advice. Our well-established industry links also provide valuable practice experience and, quite often, graduate employment opportunities.
