Staff Profiles
Nicola Cole is a graduate of Nottingham University and a Solicitor. She has extensive experience both in private practice and large commercial undertakings. She teaches Business Law & Practice and the Commercial Law elective.
Lucy Crompton is a graduate of Bristol and a Solicitor. She practiced in Central London before joining BPP to teach on the Legal Practice Course. Lucy joined Staffordshire University LPC in 2001 and teaches Property Law and Practice, Solicitors Accounts and the Family Law elective.
Susan Cunningham-Hill is a graduate of Keele University and a solicitor. She has many years experience in local practice. She is a deputy course director and teaches Civil Litigation and the elective subject of Advanced Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Susan has also co authored an LPC handbook with Karen Elder on Civil Litigation. She is the part-time evening personal tutor.
Catherine Edwards is a graduate of de Montfort University and gained her Masters degree at Southampton University and has many years experience in practice. Catherine is the careers tutor and teaches Property Law and Practice and the elective subjects of Employment Law and Family Law.
Karen Elder is a graduate of the University of Surrey in law and languages. She has many years experience in practice as a local solicitor and is an accredited commercial mediator. She teaches Civil Litigation, and two electives; Advanced Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Immigration. She has also co authored an LPC handbook with Susan Cunningham-Hill on Civil Litigation. Karen also organises the mentoring scheme and the negotiation and interviewing competitions in the Law School.
Helen Fox is a graduate of Manchester University and a Solicitor. She has many years' experience in practice both locally and in London. She is the Award Director and teaches Business Law and Practice, Business Accounts, Interviewing and Writing Skills, and the Private Client elective.
Elizabeth Gillow is a graduate of London University and has many years experience in practice in Birmingham. She teaches Business Law and Practice and the Employment Law elective and has written several books in the area of employment law.
Julie Gingell is a graduate of Kingston and South Bank University and is the LPC administrator.
Martin Hannibal is a Barrister and the LPC Director, and has a Masters Degree in Law from University College London. He teaches Criminal Litigation and Advocacy and the Advanced Criminal Litigation elective.
Peter Jordan is a graduate of London University and a Solicitor. He formerly worked in private practice and for the Law Society (Legal Aid) and Solicitors Indemnity Fund. He teaches Professional Conduct and is responsible for general liaison with the profession.
Lisa Mountford is a graduate of Nottingham University and a Solicitor. She has been in practice in Stoke-on-Trent and is a magistrate. Lisa teaches Criminal Litigation and the Advanced Criminal Litigation elective.
Alison Pope is a graduate of Bristol (English and History), Aberystwyth (Diploma in Librarianship) and Staffordshire (Law) Universities and is a Chartered Librarian. She is Law Tutor Librarian and, besides her many other duties in the Library and Information Service, is responsible for teaching Library Research Methods and Skills.
Frances Seabridge is a graduate of Exeter University. She formerly practiced at Pinsent, Curtis and Biddle and Birmingham City Council. Having headed up the block part-time course at the College of Law in Birmingham, she left to take up a position here in 2001. She teaches Skills, Business Accounts, Business Law and Practice and the Corporate Finance & Acquisitions and Private Client electives.
Robert Thornton joined us in 2001 having had many years as a Solicitor in private practice in the Potteries. He is a deputy course director and teaches Property Law and Practice and the Commercial Property and Private Client Practice electives.
Susan Wigglesworth is a graduate of this University, a solicitor and has also qualified as a teacher. She teaches Business Law & Practice and the Commercial Law elective.
