The Vision

In 2012 Science and Technology will:

  1. Be delivered through a strong and unique partnership in the UniQ Science and Technology Centre

  2. Be located in a new, state-of-the-art facility

  3. Offer an integrated curriculum with its partners that emphasises

    1. Opportunity and progression for the people of the region,

    2. Provision of a relevant and attractive portfolio for the 21st century, and

    3. Implementation of new styles of learning and teaching

  4. Use the ‘Science Working for You’ brand to give direction to all of its interactions with external groups and provide those groups with a clear route to enable them to work with us.  This will encompass activities in:

    1. Schools and college liaison

    2. Public Engagement

    3. Student employability and enterprise

    4. Enterprise activity: business, research and consultancy

  5. Have active and productive research activity in key priority areas

  6. Adopt new and revised ways of working for its staff and students that provide inclusion and clarity of purpose for all

Furthermore, we will, as a priority, ensure that:

  • The connectivity between all of these areas of work is emphasised and exploited

  • All staff are able to see clearly where they contribute to achieving our vision and are able to communicate to others what it is we are aiming to achieve

These priorities will be supported by:

  • Marketing and communication activity

  • Monitoring and evaluation

  • Governance and management
