- Passes web accessibility guidelines check and qualifies as Bobby 'AAA' Approved (the highest rating available).
- Passes a formal validation check on the XHMTL language used to create pages.
- Passes a formal validation check on Cascading Style Sheets used for the layout and typefaces on the pages.
- Pages have been tested using a variety of other validation techniques and online checkers, including tests on older browsers and text browsers.
- Pages are still readable and usable without style sheets for browsers that do not support them. (The pages look different on those browsers that don't support stylesheets.)

Main design features
- Consistent graphical style and navigation on all pages.
- Uses Cascading Style Sheets for all page layout and design.
- The heading structure and mark up of pages have a logical structure to help users with specialised software to understand the organization of the page.
- Pages have been designed so as to allow users of text browsers and specialised software to access the main content without having to read through navigation links first.
- Under each main page heading is a page description to allow users to quickly gain an understanding of the page's purpose and content.
- The homepage acts like a sitemap and provides a summary of the contents of each section of the site.
- All link phrases make sense when read out of context and also have title tags to provide extra information about a links destination.
- Title tags attached to acronyms and abbreviations give their meanings. (Not supported in Internet Explorer version 6 or earlier.)
- Downloadable documents are available in three formats including a basic HTML alternative.
- Images used for decoration are kept away from main content.
