The KTP Application Process

How do I apply?

As with all grants, there is an application form to fill out and this is completed jointly by Knowledge Base (i.e. Staffordshire University) and Company Partner staff. Application forms are available from the Staffordshire University KTP Office - it is important to ensure you have the most up-to-date versions so please contact us if you're thinking of applying for a KTP, even if you already have a version of the application form. The completed application forms are sent to the KTP office who will submit them for consideration by the KTP Project Approval Groups.

Classic KTPs (1-3 years)

Classic KTP applications go through two stages: the submission of an 'Expression of Interest', in which the proposed KTP is briefly outlined, and - subject to the approval of this - the submission of a full-length classic KTP proposal from. This process is designed to give partnerships an early indication as to the viability of their proposal.

'Expression of Interest Forms' can be submitted at any time, whilst the full Project Proposal Forms are submitted on or before one of the 6-weekly deadlines running throughout the year.

What help and advice is available?

European Regional Development Fund: Investing in your future with EU Flag.

The Staffordshire University KTP Office will co-ordinate the application process, setting deadlines for successive drafts and providing ongoing advice and guidance about proposal content.

The partnership will be guided from the outset by the regional KTP Adviser, whose role it is to ensure that the proposed KTP is feasible and then to support the partnership from application to project completion.  The KTP office will arrange for the lead academic and partner organisation staff to meet with the Adviser early in the application process.

In addition, the forms themselves come with detailed guidance documents to ensure that applicants know what is required in each section.
