The award has three stages(levels) certificate, diploma and degree.
At certificate level you will be introduced to welfare benefits, housing, debt, employment and consumer advice, interviewing skills together with modules that look at the structure of advice agencies and the legal basis of advice work.

For the diploma you will study modules on negotiation and advocacy skills, social policy and social welfare law in an advice context, the law relating to discrimination, equal opportunities and human rights, personal and family advice and more advanced modules on debt, housing, consumer, employment and benefits advice.

To complete the degree, you will explore, the social policy context of advice work, how to manage an advice agency/service and explore the skills and methods necessary to conduct research to support advice work. In addition you will complete a 7500 word dissertation and a complete portfolio of specialist work.
