Dr. Mark Hepworth is a lecturer in the Department of Information Science at Loughborough University. He teaches information retrieval at a postgraduate and undergraduate level and also how to develop user centred information services. His research focuses on information needs and information seeking behaviour. Through his studies of information behaviour, over the last ten years, he has developed an interest in information literacy. Current research projects focus on how information literacy is learnt and taught.
Mark led the "Ask the Panel" discussion and synthesised the many aspects of information literacy discussed on the day.
