International Deposit Academic Year 2017/18

Staffordshire University requires international applicants to pay a deposit to secure a place on their chosen course. Upon receipt of a deposit, we will issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number which you will need to apply for your visa. Our standard deposit is £3,500, with 50% of the total annual tuition fees to be paid at or before enrolment. If you apply via one of our recognised agents, they will guide you through this process. Please note: Students enrolling on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) are only required to pay an initial deposit of £500.

If you apply directly to the University, there are a number of ways you can pay (see details under Payment of Tuition Fees).

The deposit is non-refundable. Once you have paid it, you have made a commitment to study at the University. We will only consider a deposit refund if your visa application has been rejected and you are able to provide satisfactory evidence of rejection from the Home Office. The University will not refund your deposit if the reason for refusal is based on one of the following:-

1. Fraudulent documentation or fraudulent activity
2. Not being a “genuine student”
3. Insufficient maintenance or evidence of maintenance

Should you fail to enrol at the University, or withdraw from your course, we are at liberty to report this to the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI).

Payment of Tuition Fees Academic Year 2017/18

All international students are required to pay 50% of their total annual tuition fee before or at enrolment on-campus (this includes any payments already received i.e. £3,500 deposit). Please be aware that it can take a couple of weeks to open a UK bank account because of extensive security checks (see below), so you must ensure that you have a means to pay 50% of your total annual tuition fee before or as soon as you arrive otherwise you will not be able to enrol on your course.

There are three stages to your payment process:

  1. An initial deposit of £3,500
  2. 50% of your annual fee before or at enrolment (to include any monies already received)
  3. Final payment of remaining fees. The final payment deadline for:
    January 2018 entrants is 6th April 2018
    September 2017 entrants is 24th November 2017

If you are applying for the Early Payment Discount, you must pay your total annual tuition fees before or on enrolment.

Please note:  If you have been awarded a Staffordshire University Scholarship, this will be deducted from the total tuition fees. Any discounts will also be deducted from the total tuition fees.

Payment of Fees can be made in one of several ways:
