Entry Requirements for International Students
Choosing the right course and institution for you can be difficult if you are not familiar with the British education system or entry requirements. We advise you to contact your local British Council Office, which will give you impartial advice about studying in the UK. Also, we can recommend our recognised agents around the world.

English Language requirements
As English is used in learning, teaching and assessment at the University, you will not gain the full benefit from your degree award unless you have the appropriate standard of English.
For this reason, and to comply with the UK Boarder Agency Regulations introduced in 2011, all international students whose first language is not English must provide a recent, recognised, English language qualification such as an International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or Pearsons. All qualifications must indicate your level of competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing and must be acceptable to Staffordshire University.
For degree level study (undergraduate and postgraduate), the minimum entry requirement is:
| IELTS 6.0 | Overall score of 6.0 Minimum of: 5.5 in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. |
| TOEFL | Overall score of 87 Minimum of: 23 Speaking, 21 Listening, 22 Reading and 21 Writing. |
| Pearsons | Overall score of 51 Minimum of: 51 Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. |
Exceptions to this requirement are:
- Postgraduate Law (LLM): Minimum requirement IELTS 7.0 (no equivalent)
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Journalism: Minimum requirement of IELTS 7.5 (no equivalent)
