We are devolved in our approach to purchasing
We do not have a purchasing department, however, a person in the Finance department, reports to the Finance Director and coordinates approved suppliers.
Raising of orders is devolved to each of the Faculties and Services, who have a small admin team looking after orders, deliveries, invoices, and dealing with suppliers on a daily basis.
20 September 200916 October 200922 September 2009I would like to know whether the University has any records of any comments or complaints about swearing or language used by people playing football on the University's premises at Leek RoadThe University does not hold any records of any comments or complaints of this nature.
7 September 20095 October 200915 December 2009My interest is in the records kept on students cheating in examinations at your institution, specifically the following:
-Prohibited items discovered and removed from students during examinations, including both the number of incidents and the specific item withdrawn (i.e. Prohibited notes)
-Other recorded incidents of cheating where no confiscation of prohibited items took place (i.e. Conferring with other students during examination)
-Subject being examined when incident was recorded, and the level of study of relevant student (i.e. Law/Year 2).
-Action taken against student on day of examination (i.e. Removed from exam hall)
-Action taken as disciplinary measure against student (i.e. Suspension)
-Data from 1999 to 2009 inclusive (up to and including the summer semester 2009 data).
No statistical record is retained regarding specific items confiscated from students in examinations.
Should a student be suspected of examination misconduct they should have any unauthorised materials confiscated but, except in cases where they are causing a disturbance, the student should be allowed to proceed with the examination. The candidates answer booklet will be endorsed at the end of the examination. Any incident is then reported to the Dean of Students and Academic Registrar for investigation.
Penalties for any form of academic dishonesty will range from module failed to failed award.
There are no statistics pre-dating 2007/2008.
