11 October 20138 November 201323 October 20131) Can I get the number of complaints made by students to University authorities of racist abuse by other students or University staff for the financial years 2008,2009,2010,2011,2012 and 2013.

2) Can I get the number for how many of these complaints were investigated directly by the University?

3)How many of these resulted in successful action being taken against a students or university staff accused of racism? For example, including, but not limited to: suspensions, dismissals and sackings.
I have been through our records from academic year 2008-9 through to 2012-13 and can find no records of any complaints lodged against other students or members of staff of racist abuse.

21 October 201318 November 201329 October 20131. If students at your institution have to agree to a Terms of Service/Acceptable Use Policy before they are granted access to network resources, please provide a copy of this.

2. Could you confirm any disciplinary or punitive actions that students might face as a result of breaking such Terms of Service/Acceptable Use Policy?

3. Does your network employ any kind of traffic shaping that limits the use of particular internet protocols such as BitTorrent? Does your institution block access to file sharing sites such as The Pirate Bay or other kinds of sites (for instance, pornography sites)?

4. If your institution does block certain sites or implements traffic shaping on protocols, please could you confirm the broad internal process by which sites or protocols are chosen for blocking. If an external service such as BTs `Cleanfeed is used to regulate the sites to which students have access, please confirm the details of this.

5. Do you conduct any analysis, whether automated or manually, that investigates the volume of traffic upon your network? If so, please provide a summary of the amount and proportion of upstream and downstream traffic (accounted for separately if possible) which is utilised for the ten most popular protocols (such as streaming video, BitTorrent, email, and so on).

7. Please could you also provide any available breakdown if possible of the use of legitimate media consumption upon your network, such as the amount of traffic generated by the BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Spotify, or to Apple's iTunes store.

8. Could you confirm your internal processes for dealing with infringement notices sent to you from rights holders, such as in the case of a student sharing copyrighted content over BitTorrent without authorisation.

9. Are there any procedures in place to censure such activity, or restrict network usage for those students whose activities result in infringement notices from rights holders?

10. Please confirm the total number of takedown/infringement/DMCA-style notices that you have received this year. Additionally, please confirm the numbers of notices received over each of the previous 10 years if this information is available.

2. Could you confirm any disciplinary or punitive actions that students might face as a result of breaking such Terms of Service/Acceptable Use Policy? Https://community.ja.net/library/acceptable-use-policy We interview students. Their accounts are frozen, They undertake not to allow this infringement to take place, a second infringement involves an interview with a senior manager and a another manager, a warning and written confirmation from student not to allow this to happen, a third infringement involves disciplinary through academic process by referral to Dean.

3. Does your network employ any kind of traffic shaping that limits the use of particular internet protocols such as BitTorrent? Does your institution block access to file sharing sites such as The Pirate Bay or other kinds of sites (for instance, pornography sites)?

29 October 201326 November 201330 October 20131) What kind of financial support do you offer Care Leavers attending your university?
2) Is this financial support solely for Care Leavers or does it include any other groups of students? If so who?
3) Are there restrictions around the funding offered solely to Care Holders, i.e. Do they need to be under a certain age, should they have spent a certain amount of time in care before being able to receive this financial support?
4) Do you offer free or reduced accommodation costs to Care Leavers attending your university?
Care Leavers are considered in the same way as our other students to see if they are eligible for one of our Bursaries.
They also have the same opportunity as our other students to apply to our Access to Learning Fund (ALF) for additional financial assistance.

The only additional funding they can get as Care Leavers, is that if they apply to ALF for funding we will pay for their accommodation costs for the 3 main holiday periods (Easter, Christmas and the main summer break).

We do not give them reduced accommodation costs, but do waive the 250 pre-payment normally required to reserve the accommodation and we do guarantee their accommodation for the full length of their course (including the holidays).

There are no restrictions on the Care Leavers age or the length of time they have spent in care.
The same considerations as outline above are also given to students who are leaving a Foyer.

Car Parking spaces available after current developments 1,070

The above figures exclude Clarice Cliff, Winton Square and Cadman Courtyard

As there was no change in the car park numbers the Council approved the Planning Consent for the Landscape Master Plan Works.
