6 January 20143 February 20143 February 2014It has been noted in local press and word of mouth recently in the Stafford Locality that there is currently a consultation on the closure of Stafford Campus.

I respectfully ask that under the freedom of information act, meeting minutes are released for any meetings undertaken by the university where the closure has been discussed within the past 18 calendar months. I appreciate that documents may have to be adapted to conceal names of those present in order to maintain data protection but would also like a list of the job titles of persons present for each meeting.

23 January 201420 February 201411 February 2014Provide me, details in respect of any current framework agreement(s)/contract(s) that relate to washroom hygiene services or mat rental services within the University:

Suppliers who applied for inclusion on each framework/contract and were successful & not successful at the PQQ & ITT stages.*
Contract values of each framework/contract (& any sub lots), year to date
Start date & duration of framework
Is there an extension clause in the framework(s)/contract(s) and, if so, the duration of the extension?
Name/ Provision of the senior person responsible for this contract/ framework
Has a decision been made yet on whether the framework(s)/contract(s) are being either extended or renewed?
Staffordshire University has a contract with PHS for all of our washroom hygiene services and we don't have mat rental.

Our relationship with PHS is a long term one, this pre-dates the current Director of Campus Services so they have no detail on the original tender, the university however, does work within the NWUPC frameworks.

The university has no current plans to tender this contract in the short term but large elements will come up for renewal in 2016 when we may choose to. Our annual contract value is 30k.

Linda Degg is the Director responsible.

22 January 201419 February 201427 January 2014Does your organisation insure with Zurich Municipal via their Select group of policies - Yes/No

If yes, does your organisation have an All Risks - Part K policy under the select group of policies - Yes/No

This is the policy which provides wider perils cover for higher value items and where All Risks cover is needed. It would normally reside under Part K of the select policies but may the contained in another section depending on how your policies are arranged.

If the answer is no to either of the above then please discontinue with this FOI and reply as appropriate.

If you do have an All Risks - Part K (or All Risks policy under another section) then please supply a copy of this document as part of this FOI request and answer the following:

This question relates to the theft cover under the All Risks - Part K (or All Risks policy under another section) of the select policy which has no specific definition of theft within the policy itself. As such it will be necessary to seek clarification by e-mail from your insurers asking them to confirm whether:

A) Theft cover is restricted to forcible and violent entry/exit from the premises.

B) Theft cover is not restricted to forcible and violent entry/exit from the premises ie day time walk-in theft is covered.

This question should be easily answered as your insurers are duty bound under the conditions of the Financial Conduct Authority Handbook which contains fundamental obligations of all firms under the regulatory system. Item 7 refers to Communications with Clients - A firm must pay due regard to the information needs of its clients and communicate to them in a way which is clear, fair and not misleading.

The question therefore is simple and straightforward requiring a yes answer to either a) or b).

If an answer is not forthcoming from your insurers or is unclear then please select

C) No clearly understood answer provided.
Yes
No

31 January 20143 March 20145 February 2014 Can you please provide any document(s), emails, letters, reports and recommendations from the past 12 months up to today concerning the reorganization/re-structuring/possible closure of the Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre located at the Leek road site, Stoke-on-Trent Staffordshire and the Sports Centre at Staffordshire University Stafford Site. This request includes any documents, emails, letters reports and recommendations prepared by any employee/consultant/management including Mr Charles Manners a consultant engaged by Staffordshire University; The Sports Strategy covered the period 2011 to 2014 and is currently under review, especially in light of the recent Estates Strategy decision for which a copy of the press release is attached. This strategy is reviewed by the University Sports Management Board.

The Sports Centre Review and associated proposed structure was developed by Charles Manners who was interim Director of Commercial Services until September 2012. The structure was not presented to the Sports Management Board or University Executive. Any changes were put on hold to allow a full review, which remains in progress along with the review of the wider Sports Strategy and the need to include a Sports Development Manager in any future operating structures.
