Staffordshire University to pioneer new business-facing courses - 09/04/2008

Staffordshire University has been successfully in its bid to the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) for an employer engagement project. The University has been awarded £3million to further develop its approach to supporting employers. Staffordshire University already has a strong track record in working with a diverse range of organisations, including the RAF, Staffordshire Police, the local NHS, Britvic and Alton Towers. Film-makers in focus at gradex 08 - 22/04/2008

Two Staffordshire University film-makers are making history as part of a photographic exhibition which focuses on the role of 21st Century women. For their final year project, Natalie O'Rourke and Libby Hill have produced a documentary about Stafford-based photographer Derek Tamea whose photographic portrait exhibition 'Women in Focus - 10 Years On' opens later this year. INTERNATIONAL giants in the footwear field are expected to share their knowledge at a conference focusing on the latest research and developments in foot and footwear science. Dr Edward 'Ned' Frederick, who founded the Nike Sports Research Laboratory will be amongst the keynote speakers at the sixth annual Staffordshire Conference on Clinical Biomechanics taking place at Staffordshire University this week.
