Clearing now open at Staffordshire University

"It is important that we make sure that we are accessible to prospective students. We know that the summer of results can be an anxious time for some and they can feel worried about picking up the phone and making the call. Our existing students play a huge part in inspiring our future students. Our web pages have great examples of how students have transformed their lives and career prospects and I feel sure they will be an inspiration to anyone thinking about coming to University."

Staffordshire University have opened Clearing early to help people get expert advice about starting a University course this September.

Their campaign is already up and running for the benefit of students receiving their BTEC results and those with general inquiries about applying late for a University place.

Help and support on the clearing webpages includes advice for parents and features an offer calculator which allows prospective students to choose a course and enter their grades to find out if they can get an offer in principle.

Other services include a specialist hotline number [0800 590 830] where inquirers can speak to an expert and book personalised tours of the Stoke-on-Trent campus and facilities with a student ambassador.

Fun and friendly social media activity includes Facebook Live tours led by students, Instagram and Snapchat story coverage, student success stories and the opportunity to share the #ClearingFeeling on Twitter using GIFs.

Digital Communications Officer Laura Allen said: "Following the publication of A level results last year, we made a number of offers through Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We've experienced a large increase in followers since then. Much of our social media coverage is student-led so that anyone who is interested in studying at Staffs can get a real feel for our University which prides itself on being brilliant and friendly."
