Eunice heads stateside to prove the impossible possible

“I saw the opportunity when I came to the open day – that it was really for me – and I've not been disappointed. I was happy with my choice.”

Eunice Adegboye, BSc (Forensic Investigation)

Staffordshire graduate Eunice Adegboye is to begin a new chapter in crime scene investigation when she pursues her dream career stateside.

Eunice achieved a 2:1 in her BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation degree and feels her experience transformed her “from a timid 18 year old in the first year” to the “loud bubbly girl I am now”.

One of the highlights of her University experience was when Eunice also got to complete a 6 week placement with Staffordshire Police to analyse the effectiveness of Easylifts forensic tape – designed primarily for the removal of trace evidence – on fingerprints.

“It showed me the real world of work in the police force. It improved my skills; communication skills, presentation skills - because I had to present at the end of the project - and also being able to research on my own which came in handy for my dissertation.”

By progressing to study her Masters in Crime Scene Investigation in America, Eunice feels she is increasing her chances of landing her dream job in forensic investigation.

She added: “I saw the opportunity when I came to the open day – that it was really for me – and I've not been disappointed. I was happy with my choice.”

“I didn't think I be able to get through the degree but with the great support of my family and friends and lecturers, always available to speak to when I was feeling a bit down, it happened. I didn’t think about doing Masters – I didn't think it would be possible - and then all of a sudden I thought 'yes I want to do Masters, I want to take it on.'”
