A university TV station will be raising money for Children In Need this week with a live game show, an interactive quiz and a celebrity visit to the area.

‘Faculty Fortunes’, a twist on the ITV game show ‘Family Fortunes’, will be recorded at Staffordshire University’s TV Centre, with student teams from Stafford and Stoke, to be broadcast live to Student Unions the Lounge, the Ember Lounge and on Staffs Uni’s GKTV from 7.30pm on November 8.

The Ember Lounge will also be hosting ‘Test the Campus’, a quiz open to all students from the Stafford and Stoke campuses, who will compete to see who is the most intelligent,

with a TV link to both campuses, with results on the night.

Celebrity bear Pudsey will be at Staffs Uni from Wednesday having a tour of Stafford campus, visiting the children’s ward at Stafford District General Hospital and posing for pictures at student club night Gobble.

Ben Macrow, Deputy Service Manager of GKTV, said: “We are hoping to raise £1000 to present to Ashley Blake on Children in Need night.”

Build up starts at 4pm on GKradio with Media Officer Richard Bishop.

‘Faculty Fortunes’ was won by the Stafford campus last March when GKmedia raised £500 for Comic Relief.

Tickets for the audience of ‘Faculty Fortunes’ are £3 available Students’ Union receptions, shops and venues and also online at www.staffsunion.com

Entry to the Ember Lounge and the Lounge is free.
