Staffordshire University are proudly supporting Brighter Futures

“Although sending Christmas cards is a lovely tradition, I hope using this money to directly help people in our local community will become a new tradition and I am proud that the University is supporting Brighter Futures in this way.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes

This Christmas, Staffordshire University are proudly supporting Brighter Futures - a homelessness and mental health charity whose work is closely aligned to the University’s values. The issues they tackle every day are close to the hearts of many staff and students.

This year’s campaign aims to raise some vital funds for the charity, which provides support to those who require extra help to live independent and fulfilled lives. Their customers are people whose life chances including their health, employability and social skills have been limited.

There will be a collection on behalf of Brighter Futures at the University’s Christmas Carol Service taking place at Stoke Minster on Monday 11 December 2017 at 11am. Following the service, in place of sending corporate Christmas cards, the University will match the amount raised by staff, students and the local community at the event.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes said, “Although sending Christmas cards is a lovely tradition, I hope using this money to directly help people in our local community will become a new tradition and I am proud that the University is supporting Brighter Futures in this way.”
