"This is part of our overall mission to deliver great teaching, facilities and overall student experience and while there is still more to do, we're delighted to see it having a positive impact on the League Tables."
Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes
Staffordshire University has welcomed news that it is the highest UK climber in the Complete University Guide, published today (Wednesday 25 April 2018).
The University has secured the biggest climb of any university in the UK to joint 73rd largely due to an increase in its graduate prospects score. Last year the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (DLHE) showed that 97.5 per cent of Staffordshire University graduates were employed or in further study.
Staffordshire University Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes said: "This is great news for the University. We deliver a range of activities to support employability and enterprise including the option of a guaranteed work experience, volunteering and real-world projects. This is part of our overall mission to deliver great teaching, facilities and overall student experience and while there is still more to do, we're delighted to see it having a positive impact on the League Tables."
Staffordshire University was also the highest climber in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 published last September and is celebrating 'THE Most Improved Student Experience' in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey published last month.
Professor Barnes added: "We're aware that League Tables are helpful to prospective students, their parents and career advisors and that if we can evidence that students have a great experience and are highly likely to go on to a successful career, then students are far more likely to make us their first choice."
Students' Union President Darren Clarke said: "It's fantastic to see the hard work and positive change happening at Staffordshire University recognised in this climb. As a Union we're proud of the impact our Student Groups, Representatives and members have on the student experience, and are delighted to see these groups working with the University to benefit our students."

Simon Emmett, CEO of the Hotcourses Group said: "The Guide is an essential element of the wide-ranging portfolio of information, advice and guidance available through Hotcourses and its parent company IDP. It complements the counselling and insight programmes and thousands of student reviews which, altogether, offer the biggest, busiest and unparalleled worldwide resources available on UK higher education institutions and their courses."
