Staffordshire University is among the top ten Universities for teaching quality, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.

Joint 63rd overall, the University was highest climber in the League Tables published on September 24 - up 29 places! The University has also beaten Midlands universities including Birmingham, Warwick and Coventry for teaching quality as measured by the National Student Satisfaction survey.

Staffordshire University Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes said she was delighted with the news, adding; "This reflects the great work we are doing to give students the best possible experience. We invite prospective students to sign up  to an open day so we can show them what a brilliant and friendly institution we are."

"The announcement builds on being awarded Silver in the government's Teaching Excellence Framework, excellent employability as measured through the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey and our recent nomination for the THE Awards 'Most Improved Student Experience'.”

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 is published over three days, beginning with a free 96-page supplement published in The Sunday Times (September 24).

It includes profiles on 131 universities and the UK university rankings, making use of the latest data published in the past two months. A fully searchable website with university profiles and 67 subject tables is published at

The league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
