University's inaugural UK Partnership Conference praised

"Partnerships are very important to us both in terms of the delivery of our courses and also for how they enable Staffordshire University to engage with the wider and regional community to provide learners the opportunity to maximise their potential with a route into higher education."

Chris Slade, Director of Partnerships at Staffordshire University

Education partners from across the UK have praised Staffordshire University's inaugural Partnership Conference which aims to promote the sharing of best practices.

Over 120 delegates attended the two day conference held at Staffordshire University's Octagon building in Stafford which tackled issues such as education policy, distance learning and how technology will influence the way students are taught and assessed in the future.

With attendees from institutions such as The National Design Academy, South Staffordshire College and Barnsley College, Chris Slade, Director of Partnerships at Staffordshire University, says she was delighted with the reaction.

"Partnerships are very important to us both in terms of the delivery of our courses and also for how they enable Staffordshire University to engage with the wider and regional community to provide learners the opportunity to maximise their potential with a route into higher education."

Michelle Dowse, Director of Commercial Operations at South Staffordshire College, said: "The conference has provided a great opportunity to network with other colleges and partner organisations as well as different departments from Staffordshire University.

"It has also been a great source of exciting developments and innovative opportunities to improve the way the education sector works"

Nick Sheppard, Chief Executive of The Centre for Youth Ministry, said: "There is an enrichment which can happen when a university seeks to have diverse partners who do things differently in other parts of the UK and other parts of the world.

"When everyone within education is screaming competition, for a university to be promoting collaboration and helping to bring people together is very refreshing."
