Centre for International Sports Law

The Centre for International Sports Law (CISL) based at Staffordshire University, UK and Thompson Rivers University, Canada was established in 2010 as a centre of excellence in sports law research and teaching.

The purpose of CISL is to gain a greater understanding of lex sportiva in order to inform, inspire and where appropriate, shape the National and International research agenda. In particular, CISL provides a platform from which academic, industry and practitioner expertise can be shared through a variety of e-platforms (including the highly acclaimed Sports Law Canary Blog), conferences, symposia, research publications and open educational resources. It will also allow academics and practitioners the opportunity to engage with the public and wider community on the issues that matter.
