Drama Staff - Paul Christie

Paul Christie trained on the BA Acting degree at RSAMD before going on to work as a professional actor for ten years performing in theatre, television and radio. Following this he undertook a further years training as a theatre director at RADA.

Directing credits include: Troilus and Cressida by Shakespeare, Pilate from the book by Ann Wroe, The Bacchae by Euripides, Broken Window Theory by John Hollingworth, The Crossing by Rachel Ogilvy, The Last Days of Yegor Bulychev and Philistines, both by Gorky. The Good Hope by Lee Hall, A Little Death adapted from Buchner's Woyzeck and Schnitzler's La Ronde, Love's Labour's Lost by Shakespeare, The Man with the Luggage by Ionesco and Love Fools adapted from Shakespeare's Sonnets.

As a producer he founded a small scale touring theatre company in Scotland with which he produced three shows and received Arts Council and Lottery funding. Recently he has also begun to produce and direct for film having set up film production company Constitution Productions for the creation of Breathe a forty minute dramatic feature aimed at young people funded by the NHS.

Paul has combined directing with the teaching of acting for several years and is committed to exploring and deepening the collaboration between actor, director and playwright in the rehearsal room.
