Caroline Davison – Editor, Teletext entertainment, the Press Association
BA Honours in Journalism, 2005
Before university: Old Hall School then Thomas Rotherham College. Rotherham
It was a massive promotion with a great new title to become Teletext entertainment editor for the Press Association. After graduating I started work for PA as a sub-editor, which involved subbing Teletext regional news for ITV1, Channel 4 and Five. I also worked on newspaper projects and wrote book reviews published worldwide. I would like to work on a national, but I’m going to keep plugging away and see where the wind takes me.
I loved the course at Staffs, the students and lecturers made it what it was. We were all a team and could rely on each other for ideas, opinions and the odd kick up the backside. If I hadn’t been given training in Quark and Photoshop I wouldn’t have got this job. It took me nine months to get my foot in the door, but all the training and advice I was given at Staffs has been invaluable.
