I work as a video journalist at Harper Adams University College in Newport, Shropshire. My job involves creating short news stories and longer features about events and work at the college, students, staff, research etc. These then get uploaded onto the website and YouTube and sent to various press departments of TV companies, newspapers, radio stations etc.
It's hard to believe that I have landed my dream job after leaving Staffordshire University only a few months ago. The skills I acquired while studying at Staffs have enabled me to realise my dream of becoming an agricultural broadcast journalist. The technical support that I received from the department was fantastic - they are not only extremely knowledgeable, but friendly and approachable too.
The online element of the course was also a key factor in me getting the job at Harper Adams University College. By getting my work published on StaffsLive it enabled me to stand out from other candidates as examples of my work had been published and were in the public domain for employers to see.
