Robbie nabs Outstanding Contibution award at The Brits

By Laurence Mozafari: Robbie Williams will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music award and perform live at the Brits, at Earls Court London on February 16.

The Stoke-on-Trent heartthrob will join the esteemed ranks of Elton John, Eric Clapton and Freddy Mercury who have previously won the Outstanding Contribution prize.

Williams will also face of against Mika, Paolo Nutini, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris for the best Male Solo Artist award.

Ged Doherty, chairman of the Brits committee said: “It’s an exciting line-up. These acts are young, vibrant and hugely talented. Each brings something different to the Brits party. With Robbie Williams already confirmed and more surprises in store, Brits 30 will be the music event of the year.”

Some rumours have circulated that Robbie will reunite with his former band mates Take That for his second song at the ceremony, as it is also Take That’s 20th anniversary.
