The pitch was invaded at the end of the match and clashes with police started outside the ground shortly after the final whistle.
Two police officers were injured after bricks and bottles were thrown by fans.
The men are due to be questioned by police later today.
Eight football fans were arrested after violence erupted in Burslem town centre on Saturday evening.
Two police officers were injured after being struck by bricks following Port Vale’s final game of the season against Shrewsbury Town.
Traffic was halted and businesses closed their doors as police were pelted with bricks and bottles by a mob estimated at 250, all thought to be Vale supporters.
Around 80 officers were involved in a 30-minute stand-off in Moorland Road before order was finally restored.
A police spokesman confirmed that eight people have been bailed until June pending further enquiries.
The fixture between the two clubs has a recent history of trouble. Last season four fans were arrested before the game at Vale Park and there were clashes betwen rival supporters at Town’s Prostar Stadium when Vale visited in January.
