Rob Jeffries on Who Dares Wins

EXCLUSIVE by Rebecca Clark: A Staffordshire student has won his second big money TV quiz show prize – and plans to celebrate by taking his parents on holiday.

Over the past two years, Rob Jeffries has won £20,000 after appearing on TV shows, with his most recent success coming on the BBC’s Who Dares Wins.

The 20-year-old Staffordshire University sports journalism student and his quiz show partner split their winnings of £20,000.

But while other young winners might think of sports cars and holidays to Las Vegas, Rob’s planning to spend his money taking his parents on the trip of a lifetime.

He explained: “I always said I was going to take my parents to Australia with it after I finish university. That’s all safe and in the bank.”

His latest win was filmed last year but only screened recently and Rob admitted it was hard work keeping his windfall secret.

He said: “It’s weird, very weird to see myself on TV after so long.

“The show was filmed a year ago and I had to keep it quiet for a long time – so it was a relief  to get it all out in the open.”

Rob also appeared on Sky One’s Don’t Forget The Lyrics back in 2008, again winning £10,000.

He could have won £250,000 had he scooped the jackpot on that show, but he admitted he didn’t want to risk his winnings.

“I just didn’t know any of the lyrics,” he explained. “So I didn’t want to risk it. It was the second verse of the Time Warp and I just had no idea.”

Rob has set readers of StaffsLive a just-for-fun quiz to see whether they have what it takes to follow in his winning footsteps.
