Young driver killed in car crash near Cheadle

By Holly Ranford: A man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree near Cheadle.

The 20-year-old was travelling along the A522 Leek Road in a blue Toyota Yaris when he collided with a tree near the JCB site at 7am today (May 16).

Boss Tony Pulis proud of his Potters

By Elliot Richardson: Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he is immensely proud of his team despite their FA Cup heartbreak.

The Potters were beaten 1-nil by Manchester City in their first ever FA Cup Final.

Yaya Toure did the damage with a late goal at Wembley but the Britannia Stadium outfit can be proud of their cup run, according to Pulis.

Cheshire fundraiser in Kilimanjaro charity challenge

Community radio station to broadcast on FM in Stoke-on-Trent

By Sam Morter: A community radio station is taking to the airwaves in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Cre8 Radio will begin its FM broadcast on May 21 and will be run entirely by volunteers from the local area.

The community station status means revenue does not come from commercials and the station is instead funded by Government grants and public donations.

Stoke RUFC earn Twickenham cup win over Aylesbury

By Jon McCormack: Stoke RUFC have won the RFU Intermediate Cup after defeating Aylesbury Bulls 16-10 at Twickenham.

Wayne Dicken and Simon Price both scored for Stoke, who managed to go one better than their footballing counterparts and come back from London with silverware.

Toure breaks Stoke City hearts in FA Cup final

By Francis Pitt: Stoke City’s first ever FA Cup final ended in disappointment after they lost 1-0 to a Yaya Toure second half goal.

Toure gave Manchester City the lead in the 74th minute after Stoke failed to clear their lines. Potters keeper Thomas Sorensen stood no chance as Toure’s left foot shot was rifled into the back of the net.
