Hanley artist creates vintage posters for FA Cup Final

Bloodhound SuperSonic Car on show at Stoke-on-Trent College

By Tom Shingler: The Bloodhound Super Sonic Car has made a pit stop at the Burslem campus of Stoke-on-Trent City College.

Students have the chance to look at the car which will be used in an attempt to break the land speed record in 2013.

Richard Noble OBE, who held the land speed record of 630mph between 1983 and 1997, will also be giving a talk tomorrow (May 4) in front of local business owners.

Two injured in Burslem car crash

By James Hood: Two men have been taken to hospital after their car crashed into a tree on Moorland Road in Burslem.

The driver injured his head and one of his legs, while one of the passengers suffered abdominal injuries in the crash in the early hours of this morning (March 18).

Both men were taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for treatment.

Hundreds give broadcaster Sam Plank final send off

By Rachel Wood and Matt Richardson: Hundreds of people lined the streets of Stoke on Trent to give a last fond farewell to radio presenter Sam Plank.

A cortege starting from Sam’s home in Bucknall made its way around the city before stopping at the Sir Stanley Matthew’s statue in the centre.

Sir Stan was a known listener and good friend of Sam’s and was greeted with a warm round of applause by the gathered crowd.
