By Roxanne Nicholls: One in five Staffordshire students are missing from the electoral register, meaning they will not be able to vote come May 6.
There are around seven million students in the UK, which equals around 15 per cent of total voters.
However, they are statistically less likely to be voting in this year’s General Election.

By Chris Heath: Stoke-on-Trent is bucking the trend when it comes to people registering to vote.
A recent report by the Electoral Commission suggested that only 56 per cent of young people are registered to vote in the general election.
John Hammersley, principle elections officer at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, says the city is bucking the trend – thanks to partnerships with Staffordshire University
He said: “We’re fortunate in Stoke that we do get [the university's] help. Other authorities will strive to do that but whether that’s always the case remains to be seen.”
