Newcastle Town will host 2012 Varsity, despite crowd trouble

Staffordshire student’s friend survives New Zealand earthquake

By Mhari Farmer and Harriet Holland: A friend of a Staffordshire University student told today how he survived the terrible New Zealand earthquake which has claimed at least 65 lives.

Keith Wiltshire, of Sockburn, Christchurch, was in the city on the South Island when the powerful quake struck, devastating many buildings and killing scores of people.

Tom Rabagliati, of Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, is a friend of Mr Wiltshire’s and managed to get through to him.
