By Laurence Mozafari: The sassy pop trio, Girls Can’t Catch played at the Leek Road Venue last night (February 25) to a hyped up crowd.
The girls performed four tracks, including their latest single Echo and their debut Keep Your Head Up.
The girls were buzzing after their performance and said that their gig at Staffordshire University was one of their best.
Daizy, 24, said: “The crowd was insanely supportive and loud and crazy. The meet and greet we did afterwards was just full on.”

By Steph McDonald: Mish Mash is making a return to the LRV this week, bringing a Caribbean vibe to the Student’s Union.
The Malibu Mish Mash tour will be hitting 30 universities across the UK and promises to “deliver a night of playful randomness and fun”.
Staffordshire University’s Student Union will be hosting the event on February 19, featuring a unique combination of British and Caribbean music styles ‘mashed’ together.
Party-goers are urged to don their UV paint, glow sticks and fluorescent tutus to help capture the colourful Caribbean spirit.

By Amy Keenan: Infamous x-rated hypnotist Tony Lee returns to Staffordshire University this week to cause havoc at the Legends bar in Stafford.
Canadian Lee is a firm favourite on the university circuit in the UK because of his outrageous shows, and he is due to perform again this Thursday.
He hypnotizes audience members and persuades them to do anything from lap dancing to getting naked on stage.
Lee says he’s excited about the show because Staffordshire University is his favourite place to perform in the UK.

By Kellie Hill and Liz Quinn: The battle against discrimination has been backed by Staffordshire University’s Student’s Union with a Love Music Hate racism gig at the LRV.
More than 500 people attended the event which saw a line-up including outspoken punk band King Blues and support acts like Manchester-based Kid British and hip/hop artist Tinie Tempah.
Student’s Union President and joint organiser Assed Baig, said the event was important in eliminating racism in Stoke-on-Trent.

By Emma Glanfield: Staffordshire Student Union President Assed Baig plans to organise a gig to raise money for Haiti.
The Student Union has so far raised £400 for aid relief in the earthquake-stricken island.
A bake sale held outside the Student Union raised £270, and a collection box at the students’ weekly nightclub event Gobble bumped the funds up.
Baig is impressed with how many students have been forthcoming in ideas to help raise money.

By Andrew Stuart: Staffordshire Police have arrested a man in connection with an incident which saw two students suffer burns.
A 19-year old male was released on police bail, pending further enquiries, after the fancy dress costume of students caught fire at the LRV on Staffordshire University’s Leek Road campus last night (January 21).
Inspector Rob Thompson said: “It appears that there was a fancy dress party at the students’ union and something has occurred resulting in two persons being set alight.”

By Holly Ranford: Two students were treated for burns after catching fire at Staffordshire University’s LRV.
Their fancy dress outfits caught fire after a joke was made about the flammability of their costumes last night (January 21).
The pair had been collecting third place in a fancy dress competition for their cotton wool costumes prior to the incident.
Bouncers finally put out the flames with jackets and a fire extinguisher after the students had made frantic efforts to remove their clothing.
