Community radio station to broadcast on FM in Stoke-on-Trent

By Sam Morter: A community radio station is taking to the airwaves in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Cre8 Radio will begin its FM broadcast on May 21 and will be run entirely by volunteers from the local area.

The community station status means revenue does not come from commercials and the station is instead funded by Government grants and public donations.

Police name Stoke-on-Trent man killed in A53 crash

By Liam Kerin: Police today named the Stoke-on-Trent man who died in a road accident on the A53 as Mark Clinton.

Father-of-two Mr Clinton, 45, of Leek New Road, Stockton Brook, was killed after his blue VW Passatt collided with a silver Ford Fiesta, before crashing into a tree.

He suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
