Port Vale players sign new contracts

By Tom Niblett : Port Vale have moved quickly to sign up four first team members.
Vale manager Micky Adams has revealed that Anthony Griffith, Chris Martin, Kris Taylor and John McCombe have all committed themselves to the club.
Player of the Year Griffith has has penned a two year deal along with McCombe and Martin, while Taylor has signed a one year extension.
Louis Dodds, Lewis Haldane and Marc Richards are also currently in negotiations about staying at Vale Park.
One player who is unlikely to be at Vale Park next season …

Port Vale fans clash with police

The pitch was invaded at the end of the match and clashes with police started outside the ground shortly after the final whistle.
Two police officers were injured after bricks and bottles were thrown by fans.
The men are due to be questioned by police later today.
Eight football fans were arrested after violence erupted in Burslem town centre on Saturday evening.

Port Vale boss has high hopes for young midfielder

By Joe Bennett: Port Vale manager Micky Adams believes youngster Sam Morsy has earned his place in the first team squad.
The central midfielder made his first team debut earlier in the season, replacing captain Tommy Fraser in the latter stages of Vale’s home clash with Lincoln in February.
Since then Morsy has been included on a regular basis in the first team squad and has put in some impressive displays for the reserves.

Port Vale star Gareth Owen backs Six Towns Challenge Walk

By James Truswell: Port Vale star Gareth Owen will start the charity “Six Towns Challenge” walk this Saturday.
The event begins at 9.30am outside Tunstall Town Hall.
Walkers will make their way through Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Stoke and Fenton before finishing outside Tesco in Longton.
It’s hoped it will raise money for local charities and will be started by Owen and Lord Mayor Cllr Jean Bowers.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is supporting the walk, a charity event to tie in with the centenary of the federation of Stoke-on-Trent.

Port Vale fanatic hopes for a play-off finish

By Joe Bennett: Opera singer Steve Laird hopes his vocal chords will help cheer his beloved Port Vale all the way to League One this weekend.
Steve lives in Belgium and is a former member of the Liege Opera group, but still travels 12 hours to watch his side at every other home game.

Tough weekend of football for Staffordshire sides

By Joe Bennett: All three Staffordshire league sides are in action this weekend as Stoke City host Everton, while Port Vale and Burton Albion travel to newly promoted Bournemouth and Rochdale.

Port Vale hope to keep play off dreams alive against Notts County

By Emma Glanfield: Port Vale hope to continue their promotion chasing run against recently promoted Notts County.
Vale, who go into the game following a 1-1 draw away at Bury, have not lost since March 27.
Notts County secured promotion to League One with a 4-1 victory over Morecambe at Meadow Lane.

Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt said they need to win their last three league games to finish in the play-offs.

By Gary Hammersley: Port Vale will travel to fellow play-off hopefuls Bury looking to add to their four game unbeaten run.
