Jonathan Wilkes hopes Soccer Aid will raise £10m for Haiti

By Ben Bradley: Jonathan Wilkes is hoping this year’s Soccer Aid match will help raise £10 million for charity.
The Stoke-on-Trent actor is again involved in the event which raises cash for UNICEF.
And this year’s proceeds will be used to help families in Haiti rebuild their lives after the devastating earthquake.

Nominations wanted for Stoke-on-Trent’s Citizen of the Century

By Matt Bowling: The list of candidates who could be crowned Stoke-on-Trent’s Citizen of the Century is set to grow with nominations still being taken.
The list is expected to increase to a minimum of a 15 nominees, with those suggested including former world squash champion Angela Smith plus Keele and Stoke City philanthropist Neil Baldwin.
Ten famous faces have been already announced as the first nominees for the award.
The prize has been created as part of the city’s 100 year aniversary celebrations taking place throughout 2010.

Stoke’s Robbie Williams wins 15th award at the Brits

By Rebecca Clark: Stoke-on-Trent’s favourite son Robbie Williams has bagged the Outstanding Contribution Award at this years Brits.
It takes his Brits total to 15, making him the most celebrated artist in the history of the event.
The star, who has had 28 top ten singles and eight number one albums over a career spanning two decades, said it was a “absolutely fantastic” and “incredibly strange”.
Previous Outstanding Contribution Award winners include U2, Oasis, Paul McCartney and the Pet Shop Boys.

By Sarah Wells: Singer Robbie Williams’ live radio proposal to his girlfriend Ayda Field was a joke, his spokesman has said.
The Stoke-born singer was being interviewed on 2DayFM’s Kyle and Jackie O show when he revealed that long term girlfriend Ayda Field was also in the studio with him.
Presenter Jackie O commented that Sydney had a reputation for celebrity proposals before asking Williams if he “had anything to share”.

Robbie Williams excited after Take That reunion

By Stephen Stringer: Robbie Williams appeared on stage with former band mates, Take That, for the first time in nearly 15 years.
The Stoke-born singer was welcomed on stage by pal Gary Barlow during the recording of a charity gig to raise money for Children in Need.

By Tom McShane: Robbie Williams fans will be able to buy his new album early thanks to an exclusive music download - three days before the album’s official release.
The Stoke-On-Trent star’s latest album, Reality Killed The Video Star, is due for official release on November 9, but is available for Spotify users to buy for download from today (November 6).
