By Emma Glanfield: Stoke City manager Tony Pulis believes Liverpool’s in-form striker Fernando Torres will be the dangerman when the two sides clash at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters, who currently lie 16th in the table, go into the game tomorrow (November 13) on the back of a much-needed midweek 3-2 victory over local rivals Birmingham City.

By Paul Jenkins: Stoke City players Ryan Shawcross and Matthew Etherington have missed out on Fabio Capello’s provisional 30-man England World Cup squad.
However, Potters fans will take some comfort from keeper Thomas Sorensen’s inclusion in the Denmark squad.
Some had tipped Shawcross and Etherington as outside bets for the England squad announced by Capello shortly after 1pm today.
Other notable absentees include Manchester United’s injury-ravaged midfielder Owen Hargreaves and Everton’s Phil Jagielka.
The 30-man squad:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green.
Defenders: Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio

By Ben Lowe: Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross will not play for England in this summer’s World Cup, predicts pundit Steve Froggatt.
Shawcross could be named on Tuesday in Fabio Capello’s provisional 30-man squad for the tournament, which kicks-off on June 11.
But former Coventry and Wolves winger Steve Froggatt, now a summariser for Radio 5 Live, believes Arsenal veteran Sol Campbell is more likely to be on the plane to South Africa.
Speaking to StaffsLive, Froggatt said: “Ryan’s had a terrific season for Stoke but any player in Capello’s World Cup squad will have played …

By Gary Hammersley: Stoke City face Bolton Wanderers at the Britannia Stadium hoping to continue their impressive defensive form.
The Potters have conceded only one goal in the last five games, but will definitely be without centre back Ryan Shawcross for the visit of Owen Coyle’s side tomorrow (April 17).
Mama Sidebe is also definitely out, while Ricardo Fuller and Matthew Etherington face late fitness tests.
The team are tenth in the league and a win tomorrow would go some way to securing a top ten finish, and take them past last year’s …

By Nick Porter: Stoke City midfielder Matthew Etherington admits he is “frustrated” at a lack of talks over a new contract.
The winger said there had been no fresh talks on a new deal – despite comments from manager Tony Pulis that a new deal had been discussed this week.
The 28-year-old told StaffsLive: “I’m more than happy to stay here but there’s been no talk recently.
“There’s been talk earlier on in the year, but only talk. It’s frustrating without a doubt.
“I want to stay here and sort my future out, but …

By Joe Cuffaro: Stoke City will be looking to record their first ever league double over Tottenham when they face Harry Redknapp’s side at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters beat Spurs 1-0 at White Hart Lane in October and will be looking to repeat the trick on Saturday (March 20th).
Tottenham have only won one of their last six away league games so will probably not be relishing a trip to the Potteries. But with Champions League football still a possibility this season Stoke will have to be wary of a side …

By Nick Porter: Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross says he is looking to build on his recent international call up by making the England Squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 22-year-old was selected in the squad that beat Egypt earlier this month, just hours after being involved in an incident that broke Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsay’s leg.
“To get the England call up was unexpected and fantastic,” said Shawcross. “It was an accident and an unfortunate thing, and I wish Aaron the best.
“The gaffer was calling me and texting me …

By Nick Porter: Tony Pulis says he is pleased to be welcoming back Ryan Shawcross to his Stoke City side for this weekend’s home game against Tottenham Hotspur.
The defender has not played since leaving the Britannia Stadium in tears, having been sent off for a tackle that broke Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsey’s leg.
Shawcross’ return from the three-match suspension could not have come at a better time for the Potters, who have not won any of their last four games.
“We’ve missed Ryan, he’s been absolutely fantastic for …

By Nick Porter: Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has admitted he has found his second season of Premier League management a lot more challenging than the first.
The Potters currently sit 11th in the Premier League, 12 points clear of the relegation zone.
But Pulis says he will wait until May before he assesses whether his team’s season has been a success.
“There are a lot of different issues that spring to mind,” he said. “I’ll talk about it more at the end of the season but for me it’s been a much …
