By Ben Bradley: Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has branded Ryan Shawcross as “one of the best young centre halves in the country”.
The Potters boss heaped praise on Shawcross, after the defender had a goal wrongly disallowed in Stoke’s home game with Manchester City.
Had the goal been allowed to stand it would have made up for his costly slip in the FA Cup tie, also against City, which allowed Shaun Wright- Phillips to score.

Shawcross, who had been linked with a move to Liverpool, has played 88 games for Stoke since he joined from Manchester United in 2008.
