Arctic Monkeys and Eminem to play Staffordshire V Festival

By James Drakeford: Eminem and Arctic Monkeys will headline this year’s V Festival in Staffordshire.

Neither act has previously played the annual festival which takes place at Weston Park, Stafford on August 20.

Eminem will headline the opening night of the festival. The Detroit rapper made a name for himself in the late 90s with breakthrough release ‘The Slim Shady LP’.

2012 Olympics heading to Staffordshire

Disabled golf sessions held at Stafford school

By Victoria Walker: A Stafford school is staging a three-day disabled golfing session for youngsters.

The scheme, run by Stafford Borough Council and Sir Graham Balfour High School, caters for children between eight and 16 who have impairments, learning difficulties or are wheelchair users.

The session began yesterday and caters for children between 8 and 16 with a range of impairments from learning difficulties to wheelchair users.

Stafford children’s fundraiser for David Rathband

By James Drakeford: A children’s football team in Stafford has raised more than £2,000 for blinded police officer David Rathband.

The Stafford-born officer has had to get used to life without his eyesight after being shot in the face by Raoul Moat in July last year.

Staffordshire schools sign up for Olympics initiative

Stafford parade pays tribute to Queen’s Royal Lancers
