Prince Charles makes Stoke-on-Trent visit

By Andrew Stuart: The Prince of Wales will get his hands on the Staffordshire Hoard during a visit to Stoke-on-Trent.
His Royal Highness is visiting the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery today (February 19), where he will be given the opportunity to handle two pieces of the Anglo-Saxon treasure. He will be joined by The Duchess of Cornwall to view the collection of 118 pieces from the Hoard.

Staffordshire Hoard attracts record numbers to Stoke in opening weekend

By Ben Lowe: Visitor records were shattered at Stoke’s Potteries Museum and Art Gallery when 3,700 people visited the Staffordshire Hoard collection of Anglo-Saxon treasure.
It is a record number for an opening weekend at the venue which is exhibiting 118 artefacts, including 40 that have never been seen before, every day until March 7.
In total, 1,900 visitors viewed the Staffordshire Hoard on Saturday, with more than 700 people coming to look within the first two hours of doors opening, and around 1,800 people visited the treasure on Sunday.

Staffordshire hoard on show in Stoke-On-Trent (pictures)

By Andrew Stuart: The Staffordshire hoard has arrived in Stoke-On-Trent.
Around 80 pieces of the Anglo-Saxon treasure, found last year in a field near Lichfield, are on show.
You can see some pictures of the hoard below. The exhibition was launched to the public today (February 13). It’s being displayed at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery until March 7.

Staffordshire Hoard to go on display in Stoke-on-Trent

By Chris Heath and Mark Astley: The largest haul of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found in the UK is set to be exhibited in Stoke-on-Trent – five months after it was discovered in a Staffordshire field.

The James Bond actress joins a wealth of celebrities who have already backed the bid to keep the £3.3 million treasure in the West Midlands.

Huge response after appeal for Staffordshire Hoard volunteers

By Ben Lowe: The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery has received overwhelming public support to look after visitors of the Staffordshire Hoard – less than a week after appealing for volunteers.
Museum chiefs wanted 150 people to help staff when the UK’s largest discovery of Anglo-Saxon gold, found in a field near Lichfield by metal detecting enthusiast Terry Herbert, arrives in Stoke-on-Trent next month.

Rare Staffordshire artefacts head back to Stoke for exhibition

By James Montgomery: A rare and detailed horse’s head is one of the new items from The Staffordshire Hoard to be exhibited soon.
The artefact will be displayed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent, between 13th February and 7th March.
80 other items are set to be exhibited, including gold crosses, a strip with biblical inscriptions and sword pommels that date back to seventh century battlefields.
