Two arrested over attempted child abduction

By Kieran Jones: Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction in Hanley.

Police were called to reports of the men acting suspiciously in an alleyway on Leek Road at around 4.45pm yesterday (April 8).

Officers arrested a 44-year-old from the Stoke-on-Trent area and a 44-year-old from Wolverhampton. Both remain in custody this morning while investigations continue.

Parents told to be vigilant after attempts to lure children into cars in Stoke-on-Trent

A man and woman stopped their car on Stanley Road at around 7.15pm on April 1 and tried to get two boys aged eight and ten to get into their grey Ford Galaxy car.

Man arrested after Shelton gun reports

By Josh Hoare and Lois Price: An 18 year-old-man has been arrested after reports of a gun being aimed out of a window in Shelton.

Police went to an address in Wellesley Street yesterday (March 31) after calls from local residents about a weapon being pointed out of a loft window.

Officers found no firearm at the property and the man has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
