Leek Road accident causes traffic chaos in Stoke

Designer creates alternative Royal Wedding mug

By Luke Powell: A Staffordshire ceramic designer has been picking up sales after designing an alternative commemorative mug for the Royal Wedding.

The mug – featuring the slogan ‘I couldn’t care less about the Royal Wedding’ – is the latest design from Tamworth-based Camila Prada.

The former Staffordshire University student, who graduated in February 2006, created the design after growing tired of the media coverage surrounding the event.

New Hanley fire station ahead of schedule

By Chris Edwards & Rik Packer: Construction of Hanley’s new £6million fire station is “ahead of target”.

The project which was scheduled for completion on July 15 could now be ready as early as the end of June.

The new site boasts a number of modern training facilities, such as a foam pit, a fire house and – once the temporary building is demolished – a training area for road traffic incidents.

Two injured in M6 smash in Staffordshire

By Liam Kerin: Two women were injured after their car crashed off the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent and careered down an embankment.

The women, believed to be in their 20s, were trapped in their car near junction 15 for nearly an hour as fire and ambulance crews battled to free them.

A53 road accident leaves woman critically injured

By Halima Amin: A woman motorcyclist lying in a critical condition after a Staffordshire road accident was spotted by an off duty paramedic and a hospital consultant.

The victim was seriously injured in the multi-vehicle accident on the A53 between Loggerheads and Blackbrook at around 6.55pm last night (March 22).
