By Leanne Kirtley: Three pieces of Stoke City football memorabilia were auctioned off today.
Two FA Cup final medals won by Peter Durber in 1900 were sold for £2400, below their £4,200 estimate.
Durber, who was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1973, began his football career with the Potters.
He was awarded the runner-up medals while playing for Southampton in their 4-0 defeat against Bury in the 1900 FA Cup final.
A programme from a match between Stoke City and Stafford Rangers on April 27, 1909, was also auctioned and sold for £450.

By Robert Trigg: Work has started on a pedestrian underpass at Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium.
The £1.5 million pound subway is being built underneath Stanley Matthews Way to stop fans walking across the road.
Head of Development at Stoke City Football Club Richard Smith, said: “The underpass had to be built as pedestrians use the road as a footpath.
“Stanley Matthews Way was never intended to be used as a pedestrian crossing.”

By Gary Hammersley: Stoke City keeper Thomas Sorensen’s chances of playing at this year’s World Cup appear to alive, despite fears a dislocated elbow would rule him out of the tournament.
The injury happened in the 7-0 thrashing by Chelsea yesterday (April 25), but doctors have managed to re-set the elbow without the need for surgery.

Pulis watched number of his star players take to the field as the Potters put out a strong side.
